Welcome to HiveeIQ. The HiveeIQ web and mobile applications (collectively, the "App" or "Service") are operated by HiveeIQ ("we," "us," or "our").

We are committed to providing a safe, fun, and valuable experience. We endeavor to keep all personal information private with the best possible policies and digital/physical security.
This Privacy Policy is designed to satisfy the requirements of the Apple App Store and Google Play Store, explaining exactly what data we collect, how it is used, and your rights regarding your data.
The service contains no third-party advertisements, and we do not use user data to build marketing profiles or for targeted advertising.

- a) Personal Information: When you register for an account, we collect your First Name, Last Name, User Name, and a hashed version of your Password. We may request access to your email address if you agree to it.
- b) Third-Party Authentication Data: You may sign into HiveeIQ via existing third-party accounts, such as Google Sign-In or Apple Sign-In. When you use these services, we receive an authentication token and basic profile information (such as your name and Google/Apple ID) to create and manage your account securely without storing a separate password.
- c) Usage and Analytics Data: We collect information about your interactions with the App, including quizzes taken, families joined, points earned, and questions answered. We also collect technical analytics data, including your IP address, browser/device User Agent, referring URLs, and session identifiers. We track error logs to help us identify and fix bugs.
- d) Device and Notification Data: With your permission, we collect device tokens (such as Apple Push Notification service (APNs) or Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) tokens) to send you push notifications regarding your account, families, and quizzes.
- e) Marketing and Attribution Data: We may collect marketing attribution parameters (such as Facebook/Meta click IDs or similar tracking parameters) when you arrive at our App from an advertisement, which helps us understand the effectiveness of our marketing campaigns.
3. How We Use the Data We Collect
We use the collected data for the following purposes:
- To Provide the Service: To create your account, manage your family groups, track your quiz progress, and award points.
- To Improve the App: To analyze usage trends, identify bugs via error logs, and optimize the user experience.
- To Communicate: To send you important account updates, password reset emails, and (if opted in) push notifications or promotional emails.
- Marketing Attribution: To track registration conversions and measure the success of our advertising campaigns (e.g., sending server-side registration conversion events to Meta Ads).
We collect educational metrics including lessons completed, questions answered, and game performance to improve the learning experience.

We do not sell your personal information, nor do we share it for research or advertising purposes. We only share your information with third parties in the following limited circumstances:
- Service Providers: We share necessary data with trusted third-party services that power our App, such as cloud hosting providers, analytics services, push notification providers (Apple and Google), and marketing platforms (e.g., Meta/Facebook for conversion tracking).
- Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, government request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of HiveeIQ, our users, or others.
- Minimum necessary: When using Google, Apple, Microsoft, or other SSO, we only access the minimal necessary information needed to authenticate the user and show game and educational progress.
5. Data Retention and Deletion
We retain your personal data only for as long as your account is active, as required by law, or as needed to provide you the Service.
You have the right to request the deletion of your account and all associated personal data at any time.
- In-App Deletion: You can delete your account directly within the HiveeIQ App by navigating to your Account Settings and selecting the "Delete Account" option.
- Email Request: Alternatively, you can request account deletion by emailing us at support@hiveeiq.com.
Upon deletion, your personal information (including name, email, and authentication IDs) will be permanently removed from our active databases, except where retention is required by law.
In the event of a data breach, we will notify affected users in accordance with applicable state and federal laws.
6. Security of Personal Data
We utilize industry-standard software and hardware security measures to protect the data we collect and store. While no electronic data storage or transmission is 100% secure, we continuously work to protect your information from unauthorized access, disclosure, or misuse.

HiveeIQ is designed for users age 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a user under 13 without parental consent, we will delete that information as quickly as possible.
